Short Biography
Biresaw Demelash Abera obtained bachelor’s degree in Food technology and Food Process engineering from Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia (2012), and master’s degree in Food Engineering from University of Salerno, Italy (2017). His MSc project was on extraction of valuable compounds from microalgae using pulsed electric field and high-pressure homogenization. Now he is conducting PhD in food engineering and biotechnology at University of Bolzano-Bozen (sensing technologies laboratory). He is doing the research work entitled “Development of different kinds of biosensors which are modified with single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) to detect food toxicants, such as mycotoxin (aflatoxin M1(AFM1) from milk and ochratoxin A (OTA) from grapes and wine), heavy metal from fish and antibiotic residues from meat and dairy products”. He has published several scientific papers in different international journals.
